Happy Birthday Mummy :)

Mummy turns 40 today (notice the big 4 in front) ... heh heh ...

To celebrate she pampered herself with 2 gifts (i repeat, two). Firstly she bought herself a pair of sandles which can normally cost RM30 a pair but she had to get it from Modern Mum http://www.modernmum.com.my/ and paid 5x more for the average price. Talk about being prudent in spending. Neng-ngu will surely say she lacks economics education.

Correspondingly with PC Fair 1-2009 http://pikom.org.my/cms/General.asp?whichfile=PC+Fair+InfoCentre&ProductID=22461&CatID=12 still on-going, she decided to get herself an external portable hard drive from Maxtor http://www.maxtor.com/gb/hard-drive-backup/external-drives/basics_portable.html at RM225 and claims that it's a good buy. But Papa has reminded her that she usually under-use her technical gadgets and eventually forgets about them !

Well Mummy, I hope you will put your gifts to good use and earn more $ to help buy my neng-neng and apple juice :D

Here's wishing to Happy Birthday again and good health always !
Happy Birthday to you 2x
Happy Birthday to Mummy
Happy Birthday to you

Blessed Easter Sunday

It's Good Friday today.

Matt. 27:45-54 (NIV)
From the 6th hour until the 9th hour darkness came over all the land. About the 9th hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"—which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "He's calling Elijah."
Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him."
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son of God!"

Matt. 28: 5-8 (NIV)
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said.

Have a blessed Easter Sunday coming up.

Are You Insured ?

Today, April 7 is World Health Day - http://www.who.int/world-health-day/en/ As such it reminds me if you have topped up your insurance coverage ?

Papa got me covered when I was a month old. He buys insurance from Uncle Joe (a financial advisor from Prudential Assurance) http://www2.prudential.com.my/corporate/mainpage/mainpage.php and was recommended that I should get -
a) life + medical insurance

When I got the KD http://kidshealth.org/parent/medical/heart/kawasaki.html 2 months later, I thank God that I was could claim for insurance coverage. Both Papa and Mummy were thankful to God for insurance helped cover 90% of the hospital bill. It was a 5-figure amount.

Many times we have read in the papers that folks were caught off-guard as they could not settle their hospital bills and it is just a really dreadful feeling. And hospital bills are mounting each year as the cost of seeking medical treatment is getting more and more expensive. It is said that medical expenses are rising faster than the costs of any other services.

Do good to yourself and go get an insurance plan for yourself. Be sure to get one attached with a Hospitalization & Surgical Plan !

You can check out what's being offered by the local Insurers. Scout it out at the Central Bank list of licensed insurance companies http://www.bnm.gov.my/index.php?ch=13&cat=insurance

Happy hunting ...

Buttocks are a "sensitive" issue

Yesterday being April Fools' Day, I shocked my Mummy by mentioning "cut the chicken's buttocks" to her when she was putting me to bed.

After the usual bedtime stories time, Mummy said that it was time to wind down ... as usual I had to try some "tricks" so that she can take me out of the bedroom to the hall. Dang, nothing worked ... so I remembered what I heard at Day Care today and make it a point to mention it to Mummy.

Heh ! Heh ! Caught her shocked ! We laughed at the phrase but was told that whoever taught me about chicken buttocks should be reprimanded !

So, be careful what you say to your Mummy :)
