Mummy Went on Holiday

Mummy went off for holiday and left me with Mah-Mah. Mummy was gone for the weekend, away for her 1st company trip (though she has been with the present company coming to 5 years).

I managed quite well without Mummy and missed her terribly in the evenings, however Cheh-Cheh Princess and Ling-Girl Cheh-Cheh were very, very nice to me. And Neng-nging also helped pacify me during the nights.

Of course I was not afraid of Khong-Khong and Mah-Mah at all. But I am scared of Neng-ngu. Albeit, Neng-ngu brought me along for nice Pizza and I enjoyed myself very much.

Mummy returned on Sunday and she kept her promise of getting me my Pink Pokka Chocolate sticks, t-shirt and cholcolates :) Thank you, Mummy.

Where did Mummy go ? Here is the clue: http://www.phuket.com/island/10mustsee.htm

Happy Birthday, I am Four !

I asked Mummy for a Tweety Bird Birthday Cake this time round as I celebrated my fourth birthday. Mummy and I brought the Cake to school for the cake cutting thingy ... And I also found out that 3 Nov was also another girl's birthday at school. That means there were 2 cakes to share with everyone ...

Auntie Angeline brought me birthday shopping today (cos yesterday she had no car) ... even after she has given me a birthday angpow together with BJ Por-Por next door yesterday. I had a jolly fun time choosing all my birthday presents with Auntie Angeline:

1) Barbie beading set - sponsored by Auntie Angeline

2) Sponge Bob Square Pants drawing board - sponsored by Khor-Khor Frankie

3) Barbie tiara set - sponsored by BJ Por-Por

Yipee ! ... my best birthday ever :) :) :D

Khor-Khor Mark's Wedding

October 16, 2010 was suppose to be School Concert Day for me, but I had to give it a miss cos I attended Khor-Khor Mark's Wedding instead.

Mummy brought me to the Church Wedding and I was so well behaved this time round as compared to last year when I attended Khor-Khor Calvin's wedding. I also managed to meet up with Khor-Khor Mark's Mummy who has been longing to meet up with me since Mummy mentioned to her about my existence :P

The buffet food was excellent and I even got a piece of the Wedding Cake.

Here is Khor-Khor Mark's blog: http://www.markleo.net/ Didn't know that he turned professional photographer. Niways, his contact details are in there and should anyone need a Wedding Photographer, do call him.

It was such a lovely wedding reception in church and here's to wishing Khor-Khor Mark and Cheh-Cheh Munz all the best to their life together !

Visiting Por-Por Alice

With the school hols here, Mummy is quite liberal with me keeping late nights. Last night, Mummy took me to visit Por-Por Alice. I have not seen her since May, 2010 and I have missed her.

Por-Por Alice was very happy to have me over and allowed me to play with all of Belle-Belle Mei-Mei's toys :) ... and I even got a gift from Belle-Belle's Mummy :D :D ... Belle-Belle however was not around and I was a little disappointed to have missed her.

I had dinner again at Por-Por Alice's and she is great at cooking up flavoured soups for me and Mummy.

Mummy gave her a mooncake voucher and Por-Por Alice gave me a very delicious pack of yellow-gold kiwifruits. Yummy !

I told Mummy we should visit Por-Por Alice more frequently and she say ok ... now I am waiting for the long school holidays to come in November-December 2010.

Fish Feeding

I went fish feeding last weekend. It was quite fun to see the fishes fighting for food and opening their big mouths when you throw the food in. Majority of the fishes were catfish. They were huge and kinda ugly looking.

Neng-ngu and Neng-nging bought us, kiddies each a loaf of bread and a packet of fish food for the fish feeding session. That means we get to feed the fishes by managing the all the food we have. I finished 1st though, with all the food diminished the fastest. And I had to borrow from Khor2 ... he was generous enough to share with me :)

Thereafter, we proceeded to MacDonald's for lunch. Yummy chicken nuggets and fries with Ribena :) for everyone !

Thank you Neng-Ngu and Neng-nging :)

Crazy about Barbie DVDs

I have been introduced to Barbie DVDs by Cheh2 Princess. She has the whole collection of them Barbie 3D movies. I have been loaning them from Khor2 as he decides which I can borrow.

And every time I watch them, I make a big fuss over them ... so Mummy decided to get me my own DVDs (9 Barbie DVDs !!) ... in case I break Cheh2 Princess' collection, that would not be nice at all :O

Hey, here's Barbie's personal website: http://www.barbie.com/activities/btv/

Oh ya, by the way, Papa got me my 1st genuine Barbie doll too :D with all the hype over Barbie ... heh ! heh ! heh !

Broken Promise

Papa was suppose to take me to the zoo last weekend as a Fathers' Day celebration but Papa didn't :(

Niways, Mummy told me about The Elephant Song - by Kamahl. Here is how it goes ...

The Elephant Song
Tell me said the elephant
Tell me brothers if you can
Why all the world is full of creatures
Yet we grow in fear of man
Tell me said the elephant
Tell me why this has to be
We have to run from man and hunter
Never safe and never free
People kill without regret
Although they fly by jumbo-jet
Let the word all may remember
Let the children not forget
Gentle is the elephant
Pulling loads and everything
We love to hear the children laughing
When we're in the circus-ring
Happy was the elephant
Happy was his jungle life
And then they came, the cruel hunters
With their rifle and their knives
Listen, please listen, said the elephant
If we want the world we know, to stay alive
Then man and beast, we must work together
And together we will survive
Listen said the elephant
It is conservation time
So take the warning when we trumpet
For the future of mankind

Have you been to the zoo ?

Dumpling Festival - 16 June 2010

Tomorrow the 16 June, 2010 is the Dumpling Festival (which also represents the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese calendar).

The Chinese community will celebrate it with rice dumplings (also known as bak-chang) which is glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves, or other large leaves like lotus leaves. One can find different fillings in the dumpling like pork, roast pork, chestnut, egg, salted egg, mushroom, red or white beans, or just simply plain without any filling. The rice could be just white or brown which is pre-fried with soya sauce.

I spent today with Khong-khong and Mah-mah and they took me to the wet market. They took me round to look for my attraction - Pigeons !

To my delight, Neng-ngu and Neng-nging were on leave and later in the afternoon, they took me "walk-walk" together with Khor-khor, Cheh-chehs, Kakak and Mah-mah. I was allowed to run free and wild at the indoor play park ... of which Neng-ngu said had Mummy been with me, she would forbid me from doing that. Heh! Heh! ... the benefits of "temporary freedom"

Happy Bak-Chang Festival everyone !

Yay, Neng-ngu bought me 2 pressies - 1 Princess color chops and a little Barbie Doll handbag to keep them :) :) :D ...

The next day, we all celebrated Cheh-cheh Lene girl's 4th birthday ! We all had jelly Hello Kitty Cake ... hmm, yummy :)
Thank you Neng-ngu and Neng-nging for blessing me.

High 5 Bread Town

Mummy was very impressed when told that there will be a school excursion to the High 5 Bread Town http://www.high5breadtown.com/ She quickly signed me up and after the trip, we get to go to McDonald's for lunch.

However, I didn't quite enjoy the day as it was kinda overwhelming with all the travelling and walking and lunching. And I missed not having Mummy with me :(

I got a goody bag from High 5 Bread Town and gave the goodies all away ... blagh ! not my kind of yummies :P

Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross 2,000 years ago for me.

Hot Cross Buns

Hot Cross Buns, Hot Cross Buns
1 a penny, 2 a penny
Hot Cross Buns
If your daughters don't like them
Give them to your sons
1 a penny, 2 a penny
Hot Cross Buns

Well I was introduced to hot cross buns by Mummy today when she went to Cheh-cheh Baker's bakery. A hot cross bun is a sweet spiced bun made with raisins and also some candied citrus fruits and is marked with a cross on the top. See the pic.

This Friday being Good Friday, it is said that hot cross buns are eaten on Good Fridays, with the cross symbolizing the crucifixion. Nevertheless, Pastor would always remind us never to forget that Jesus rose on the 3rd day after the crucifixion.

Prayer of Blessing

Here is a powerful prayer which all parents can pray for their kids. Pr. Chris McMillan helped prayed this prayer to his congregation.

My child, I love you! You are special.
You are a gift of from God.
I thank God for allowing me to be a ___ to you.
I bless you with the healing of all wounds of rejection, neglect and abuse that you have suffered.
I bless you with overflowing peace, the peace that only the Prince of Peace can give, a peace beyond comprehension. I bless your life with fruitfulness – good fruit, much fruit and fruit that remains.
I bless you with success. You are the head and not the tail; above and not beneath.
I bless you with health and strength of body, soul and spirit.
I bless you with overflowing prosperity, enabling you to be a blessing to others.
I bless you with spiritual influence, for you are the light of the world and salt of the earth. You are like a tree planted by rivers of water. You will prosper in all your ways.
I bless you with a depth of spiritual understanding and a close walk with the Lord. You will not stumble or falter, for the Word of God will be a lamp unto your feet and light unto your path.
I bless you with pure and edifying relationships in life. You have favor with God and men.
I bless you with abounding love. You will minister God’s comforting grace to others.
You are blessed, my child!
You are blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus.

Amen, I receive all the blessings of this prayer.
Have a good day, folks !

International Women's Day

8 March which is International Women's Day is also my Neng-ngu's birthday. Happy Birthday Neng-ngu.

Apparently, it was recorded that the 1st International Women's Day was observed on 28 February 1909 in the US. The idea of having an international day for women was put forth amid rapid world industrialization and economic expansion (at the turn of the 20th century) which led to protests over working conditions for women.

Ash Wednesday 2010

Ash Wednesday marks the 1st day of the Lent season. Lent is a time which begins 40 days prior to Easter (Sundays are not included in the count). It is at Lent that Christians (Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians and Anglicans) observe fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline.

This year Ash Wednesday is on 17 Feb, 2010. Ash Wednesday is supposedly a wake-up call - forcing us to face mortality and sinfulness. A day of repentance.

*Ash Wednesday derives its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of adherents as a sign of repentance.

Other significant days during the season of Lent will be:
- Palm Sunday (the Sunday before Easter, the last Sunday of Lent) which marks Jesus triumphal entry to Jerusalem with a blessing of palms and procession.
- Maudy Thursday (the Thursday of the holy week which leads to Easter). A time of remembering the Last Supper
- Good Friday (a day of remembering Christ's death)
- Easter Sunday (the resurrection of Christ)

Chinese New Year Cookies

My Mummy has been patronizing this bakery quite a bit, lately. It is located at Aman Suria and is called Thyme Bakery & Cafe. She has purchased some nice breads, buns and of late, Chinese New Year cookies there.

The lady boss is apparently a "countryman" of mummy's hometown but she hasn't gotten to meeting her yet. Nevertheless, I look forward to eating the cookies bought there.

Here is an interesting article written about the bakery and its owner: http://thestar.com.my/columnists/story.asp?file=/2008/8/16/columnists/navelgazer/1789397&sec=Navel%20Gazer

My Mummy's Gone Missing

1 Feb 2010 was Federal Territory Day and people who worked in the Federal Territory State had a day off. My mummy didn't go work today and yet I couldn't find her when I woke up this morning. And to make matters worse, she was missing for 3 days.

I had to call up Ah Ju "Gu-gu" to help "search" for my mummy. She took me to all the familiar places but still mummy was no where to be found. I was terribly upset. Even Neng-nging had to pacify me by telling me that mummy will find her way back ... and that I don't have to worry.

Finally, after the 3rd day my mummy came home ! She got me a Paddington Bear shirt and a box of pink Porky snack sticks (the import version for the Malaysian Rocky sticks). I reprimanded her for doing a disappearing act and she promised me to be good.

Apparently, she has gone off to Singapore for work and "failed" to inform me. Naughty mummy, don't you do this to me again !

January 2010 Came and Gone

Yes, Auntie Precious Pearl ... so fast time's gone by. See January 2010 has come and gone by in a blink of an eye. It's February now.

Soon, we will be celebrating Chinese New Year and 2010 is the year of the Tiger (my papa's year). According to the Chinese zodiac, 2010 is the Year of the metal (golden) Tiger, which commences on February 14, 2010 and ends on February 2, 2011.

This year mummy's slow at getting things done. No angpow packets, no new cash notes, no cookies, no spring cleaning ... nothing's done yet ! Mummy, hurry up ...

My mummy went the a happening event today. It was hosted in an art gallery in Bangsar called Zinc http://www.zinc.com.my/zinc/public/index.php

I thought it was kinda hip to have an opportunity to go see a "hardware" launch in an art gallery. Who would ever thought of that, huh ?

Niways do you want to know what the event launching was ? There you can read more about it here: http://gadgets.emedia.com.my/product.php?id=766

Only MNCs get to do that ! *MNCs = multinational corporations

First Day of School

I start school today, 6 January 2010. School lets the older kids settle down 1st before we come on today. This helps to re-oriented everyone back to school routine.
Mummy is glad that everything is in place for me and prays that I settle down quickly after the long holidays and festivities ...

How come there are no more Jinggle Bells songs anymore ?
