Redemption Points

Attending Sunday School is fun :D ... And finally, my "faithful" attendance paid off last Sunday when Aunty Foong Ling allowed me to redeem my gifts. I chose all the pink ones:
1) Pink Nemo Watch
2) Pink Ladybird Eraser
3) Pink Key Chain
4) alas, something blue - a Blue Stationery Kit

Thank you for all the gifts, Jesus !

Broken Promise

Papa was suppose to take me to the zoo last weekend as a Fathers' Day celebration but Papa didn't :(

Niways, Mummy told me about The Elephant Song - by Kamahl. Here is how it goes ...

The Elephant Song
Tell me said the elephant
Tell me brothers if you can
Why all the world is full of creatures
Yet we grow in fear of man
Tell me said the elephant
Tell me why this has to be
We have to run from man and hunter
Never safe and never free
People kill without regret
Although they fly by jumbo-jet
Let the word all may remember
Let the children not forget
Gentle is the elephant
Pulling loads and everything
We love to hear the children laughing
When we're in the circus-ring
Happy was the elephant
Happy was his jungle life
And then they came, the cruel hunters
With their rifle and their knives
Listen, please listen, said the elephant
If we want the world we know, to stay alive
Then man and beast, we must work together
And together we will survive
Listen said the elephant
It is conservation time
So take the warning when we trumpet
For the future of mankind

Have you been to the zoo ?

Dumpling Festival - 16 June 2010

Tomorrow the 16 June, 2010 is the Dumpling Festival (which also represents the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese calendar).

The Chinese community will celebrate it with rice dumplings (also known as bak-chang) which is glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves, or other large leaves like lotus leaves. One can find different fillings in the dumpling like pork, roast pork, chestnut, egg, salted egg, mushroom, red or white beans, or just simply plain without any filling. The rice could be just white or brown which is pre-fried with soya sauce.

I spent today with Khong-khong and Mah-mah and they took me to the wet market. They took me round to look for my attraction - Pigeons !

To my delight, Neng-ngu and Neng-nging were on leave and later in the afternoon, they took me "walk-walk" together with Khor-khor, Cheh-chehs, Kakak and Mah-mah. I was allowed to run free and wild at the indoor play park ... of which Neng-ngu said had Mummy been with me, she would forbid me from doing that. Heh! Heh! ... the benefits of "temporary freedom"

Happy Bak-Chang Festival everyone !
