Broadband pegged PC Comparison - Digi vs Maxis

I am a little late in posting up this blog.

Some 5 months ago, I high-lighted an affordable PC for kids.

In November 2008, Maxis apparently quietly launched its PC package (also very suitable for kids) - with the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ... you can read up more here http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband/dell_mini/main.asp

The package launched off at RM89 x 24 months (with 6 months free Maxis 3G wireless broadband). After that in PC Fair 3-2008 (1 - 31 Dec 2008), Maxis sold the package more expensively at RM99 x 24 months (with the same free Maxis 3G wireless broadband subscription for the 1st 6 months) ... hmm, I thought technology would depreciate with time ?

Oh well, I am just keeping tab of things ... and when I am old enough to own my own PC, I will be info equipped to go to Papa and demand that he gets me a PC of my own :D

Mila's Birthday

Yesterday was my friend at Day Care, Mila's birthday. Her Mummy has a little "do" at the Day Care with balloons, cakes, hats and Rocky Biscuits for everyone. Mila was 2 yesterday.

I got my Rocky biscuits and hat tucked in my bag. It was a hat of Disney Princesses and I told teacher that it was a triangle hat, but everyone insisted that it was a cone hat ??? I am good with shapes already, you know. I know how to differentiate a square, a rectangle, a circle and a triangle ... and oh ya, an oval too :D

Hmm ... why is it a cone hat ?

PBS Kids Word World

I currently love this little cartoon very much. http://www.wordworld.com/ There's Pig, Dog, Sheep, Duck, Frog, Bear, Ant ... and, and, Shark.

The animals are so clever, they can build their own words.
I try not to miss a series of this cartoon on Astro's PlayHouse Disney :) in the evenings. Word World is by PBS Kids, the brand for children's programming aired by the Public Broadcasting Service in the United States. http://pbskids.org/

Singing for Supper, Anyone ?

Hey, do you know this nursery rhyme for kids ? ... heh, heh, heh

Little Tommy Tucker sings for his supper
What shall we give him?
Brown bread and butter
How shall he cut it without a knife?
How shall he marry without a wife?

Here, you can read about the origins of nursery rhymes. http://www.rhymes.org.uk/little_tommy_tucker.htm

Loyalty Has Its Rewards :)

Papa has been bringing Mummy and me to TGIF very regularly (as I get to eat for free, my favorite being their fish and chips and cookies and creme). Today Papa brought us to TGIF again as it was a long weekend with the Thaipusam holiday in place.

As usual, Mummy ordered a 3-course meal so that I get to enjoy the TGIF fish and chips. Yummy ... As we were about to finish our dinner, we had the Branch Manager walk up to us and say that our meal will be on the house as we have been their loyal customers :) Yippe ... was that for real ? Yup, their General Manager also came up and thanked Papa and Mummy for their loyalty and support for eating regularly at TGIF ... :) :D :)) Yay !

At bedtime, I gave thanks for God for His abundant providance ... Remember folks, God is looking down upon us and whalla ... you'll never know when He comes knocking at your door pouring in His bountiful blessing. So, be good and maybe Santa may decide to come early too :P

Chinese New Year Lion Dance

Mummy's office had a lion dance hosted for them today by their major Principle. Times had been bad that they had this resorted to sponsorshing a lion dance. In the past, the said Principle would host a whole Chinese New Year 8-course dinner and have all their channel business partners over.

Nevermind that, let's have a look at the lions. There was a golden lion and a purple lion and young boys were performing the dance.

The lion dance of course draws much attention but Mummy kept away from the occasion as there were "spiritual" connotations to it.

Federal Territory Day

Today my Papa is lazing at home as he is enjoying his carried forward holiday from Federal Territory Day yesterday - 1 Feb.

The Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya celebrate Federal Territory Day with exciting parades, firework displays, exhibitions and cultural shows. These 3 collective territories are governed directly by the Federal Government of Malaysia. Each of them has the equivalent status to the 13 states of Malaysia, though the territories have neither a head of state nor a state legislature.

Today is also the 8th day of CNY. There will be prayers by the Hokkiens tonite ...

Dear Lord Jesus, please bless me and protect me. Keep me safe and close to you tonite. Amen.
